Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat Plate Craft
Take a look below and see how you can make your own. It is sure to get you into the spirit of all things Dr. Seuss!
Supplies needed:
Paper plate
Construction paper
Googly eyes
Pipe cleaners
Craft pom poms
Scissors
Glue
If you don’t have all of these supplies, you can easily find them at your local craft store or dollar store. They should be easy to find and inexpensive to buy.
Directions:
1. Begin by cutting out the hat for your cat. You can eyeball a simple hat shape. Don’t worry about it being perfect! Cut it out in red paper, and cut out some stripes for it in white paper. Glue the white stripes to the hat, and glue the hat to the top of your paper plate.
2. Take a pair of googly eyes and glue them to the plate. Press them until secure.
3. Add your pom pom to the center of the plate (black works great) for the cat’s nose.
4. Cut some strips of pipe cleaners and glue them to the sides of the nose. They make the perfect whiskers.
Your cat is now complete! Take your cats and enjoy a Dr. Seuss book together, watch one of the cartoons, or just sing Happy Birthday to the great Dr. Seuss! This Cat in the Hat craft is so easy, so be sure to give it a try. It is a great way to celebrate Dr. Seuss!
