Dollar Store DIY: St. Patrick’s Day Candle Holder

Don’t you just love a fun and frugal craft? Well this one is sure to get you into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit! This Dollar Store DIY is great for children or adults looking to enjoy a little St. Patrick’s Day fun. With just a few simple supplies you can make your own St. Patrick’s Day candle holder, perfect for bringing the luck of the Irish into your own space. Take a peek below at how simple these are to create. You might want to make a few!

Supplies needed:
Round, glass candle holder
Assorted glass (green) rocks
Green ribbon
Silk clovers
Glue gun, hot glue

We were able to find all of these supplies at our local Dollar Tree store. Final cost was just around $4, leaving us plenty of supplies we could craft more with later. Now that is some frugal and festive St. Patrick’s Day fun.

1. Begin by cutting a length of ribbon and wrapping it tightly around the candle holder. Secure it with hot glue on each end.

2. Pull a few of the clovers off of the stems. You won’t be needing the stems so you can discard them if you wish. Add a dab of glue to the back of each clover and begin layering them on the ribbon. We layered several of ours directly off to the side to add some style and interest. You of course can apply yours whichever way you choose.

3. Finish the candle holder by filling it with green glass rocks. This will keep your votive in place and also reflect the light nicely.

Now all you need to do is add your votive (battery operated is great and poses less of a fire risk) and watch it glow! Add your St. Patrick’s Day candle holder anywhere you need a pop of color or holiday charm. An office desk, kitchen counter, even end table or mantel are all great choices. Head to your local Dollar Tree store and gather your supplies to give this craft a try!
