DIY Valentine’s Day Love Bugs
Kids love getting crafty around the Valentine’s Day season. It is a great way for them to stay active and create something they can give to someone they love. This year, give these easy peasy Valentine’s Day Love Bugs a try. They are so simple to make and can be whipped up using just a few simple dollar store supplies. Take a peek below at how you can make your own Valentine’s Day Love Bugs. They are one kind of bug you will be tickled to see all over your home!
Assorted craft pom poms
We were able to find all of these supplies at our local dollar store. For just a few dollars, we had plenty of materials to make at least a dozen of these bugs. If you are in need of a craft for a classroom party or home school group, this is a fun and frugal solution!
1. Begin by snipping your pipe cleaners into small segments. Segments that are about one inch each are perfect. Bend a few around your finger or a pencil to create the antennae that will go on the heads of your bugs. Set aside.
2. Glue a pair of googly eyes onto the face of your pom pom. Just apply and dab and press firmly into place.
3. Next, add a dab of glue to the antennae you created. Place it on the top of the head of your bug and press until it is secure.
4. Fold a segment of pipe cleaner into a “V” shape. This will be your feet and allow the bug to stand on its own. Add a dab of glue and place it underneath the pom pom.
Your little Valentine’s Day love bugs are now ready to roll! Hide them in school lunches or anywhere your child could use a little pop of cheer. These are so cute for children to give as gifts, or just to use as décor.
So gather your supplies and give this easy peasy dollar store craft a try!
